Exploring the Chicago Periphery

intro

01

My first trip to Illinois will always hold a special place in my heart as one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I first met my girlfriend during college in an architecture class back in 2012. We didn't really talk much after that class, but we reconnected in 2021. Before we started dating, we initiated into a conversation about Chicago. She shared how it was one of her favorite destinations, while I confessed I had never been. However, I told her that there's an architecture not too far from Chicago that I've always dreamed of visiting since I was in college. "Me too," she said. It was this special moment, realizing we shared the same passion for architecture. It was the Farnsworth House by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. The former Bauhaus director and the man who invented "less is more".
